Chicken (Wilfred) Smallhorn, 1911-1988, won the Brownlow Medal in 1933, and played for Fitzroy over 1930-1940.This was his boyhood home over 1921-1934.The house was built for local grocer George Baird in the late 1880s, and was initially surrounded by farmland and market gardens
