Barrett Brothers cordial factory

Founded in 1908 at 43 HoldenStreet, the business expanded to include 42 Barkly Street and a new larger factory at 529 Rae Street by 1924. In 1938 peak output was 24,000 bottles per day, delivered by 24 motor lorries and six horse-drawn vehicles. In 1956 the factory re-located and the properties were sold to Taylor Ferguson, wine merchants.
