Cremorne Gardens from south side of the Yarra

"The view is across the river towards Richmond. The distinctive features of the Paddle Steamer Gondola, which was in the shape of a gondola and had a tall black central funnel, can be seen on the Yarra, as well as a small boat with a single sail. In the background is the intricately decorated Rotunda which housed the orchestra and was surrounded by an open air dance floor. The Rotunda was a pre-fabricated building from New York. On the left hand side of the image is a building with columns below a portico. A flag flies from a very high pole in the u.l. distance. Two groups of figures in the foreground, including a man, woman and young child, walk towards the viewer. A horse and cart are visible in the middle distance."
